Last month, the PROPLANET Project took center stage on the “Ugriznimo znanost” show, broadcasted on RTV Slovenia. A pivotal moment for our team and our partner, the Kemijski inštitut – National Institute of Chemistry, as we shared profound insights into our collaborative efforts to revolutionise the industry by replacing PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).
PFAS, renowned for their resistance to fats, oils, water, and heat, have long been a staple in various products, including clothing. However, the widespread use of these substances has raised significant health concerns, as they can be transferred to our skin and water through washing, potentially impacting long-term health.
Dr. Blaz Stres, a distinguished researcher from the Chemistry Institute, shed light on the critical role of PFAS in our daily lives and the urgent need to seek alternatives that are not only less harmful to the environment but also safeguard human health. The Chemistry Institute is at the forefront of pioneering projects aimed at identifying and developing such alternatives, thereby paving the way for a safer and more sustainable future.
The PROPLANET Project, a collaborative endeavor between the Kemijski inštitut – National Institute of Chemistry and other prominent institutions, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. Through our collective efforts, we are poised to redefine industry standards and set a new benchmark for responsible and ethical practices.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to RTV Slovenia and the “Ugriznimo znanost” show for providing us with a platform to share our vision and mission with a broader audience. Together, we can make a tangible difference and create a world where progress and sustainability go hand in hand.
