The PROPLANET Project General Assembly took place on 21–22 October 2025 in Lillestrøm, Norway, hosted by our partner NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research. Over two dynamic days, project partners came together to discuss progress, exchange ideas, and plan the next steps in the joint mission to develop PFAS-free, sustainable coating technologies.
The meeting opened with comprehensive updates from all work package leaders, highlighting recent technical advancements, pilot-scale developments, and ongoing research efforts. Partners engaged in constructive discussions on scientific challenges, innovation management, and strategies to ensure that the project’s results contribute meaningfully to a safer, greener, and more sustainable materials industry.
Day two continued with a focus on collaboration and impact, fostering synergies among partners and outlining the roadmap for the project’s upcoming activities. In parallel with the assembly, NILU and EXELISIS IKE hosted a promotional booth, presenting the latest outcomes of the PROPLANET Project and sharing information about the upcoming COATINGS 2026 Conference, the project’s final event, where sustainability and innovation will take center stage.
The General Assembly once again demonstrated the strength of collaboration within the PROPLANET consortium, combining expertise from across Europe to address one of today’s most pressing environmental challenges: the replacement of PFAS-based coatings with safe and sustainable alternatives.
