PROPLANET’s Innovations Take Center Stage at the 22nd International Sol-Gel Conference

We are proud to announce that PROPLANET’s groundbreaking advancements were prominently featured at the prestigious 22^nd International Sol-Gel Conference, held in Berlin from September 1–6, 2024. The conference brought together leading experts from around the world to discuss the latest research and innovations in sol-gel science and technology.

Alessia Bezzon, a key representative from RINA, and Dr. Ana Suárez Vega from TECNALIA Surface Engineering delivered insightful presentations showcasing PROPLANET’s cutting-edge contributions to the field of sustainable and safe coating technologies.

Alessia Bezzon’s presentation, titled “PROPLANET: Enhanced Safe and Sustainable Coatings as Alternatives to PFAS”, highlighted the project’s commitment to replacing harmful substances like PFAS with safer, eco-friendly alternatives. Dr. Ana Suárez Vega followed with her talk on “Hybrid Organic-Inorganic PFAS-Free Coatings with Non-Stick Properties”, emphasising the innovative hybrid coatings developed within the project, which offer robust non-stick properties without compromising sustainability.

Both presentations sparked lively discussions among attendees, fostering a deeper dialogue within the scientific community about the versatile applications of PROPLANET’s Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) coating solutions. The conference provided a global platform for PROPLANET to demonstrate how its novel technologies are paving the way for safer, more sustainable industrial practices.
