Last week, NILU had the opportunity to showcase its PROPLANET Project at the Norwegian Society for Pharmacology and Toxicology (NSFT) Conference, and it was a fantastic experience! The team presented an exciting new poster that sparked a lot of great conversations and interest among the conference attendees.
The session focused on Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles, and during it, Dr. Eleonora Longhin shared her valuable work on creating safer, more sustainable materials. Her poster, titled “Development of PFAS-free coatings in a Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approach”, highlighted her innovative efforts to replace harmful PFAS chemicals with safer, environmentally friendly alternatives—while maintaining high-performance standards.
This research is part of the larger PROPLANET Project, which is all about finding sustainable solutions that make a real difference in industries that are striving to become more eco-conscious and responsible. Dr. Longhin’s work is a great example of how science and sustainability can go hand in hand to drive positive change.
The NSFT Conference was an excellent space for professionals in the fields of pharmacology and toxicology to connect, exchange ideas, and dive into the latest trends in science and sustainability. Dr. Longhin’s poster was met with positive feedback, showing just how important these sustainable design principles are becoming for the future of various industries.
